What’s Our Type?

Averta and Ticketmaster: The Perfect Match

Bringing together features from early European grotesques and American gothics, Averta is Ticketmaster’s official typeface. Its geometric rounds, open apertures, and low contrast strokes bring a simple, appealing personality that translates well across a wide spectrum of use cases. Use Averta in all marketing and communications messages.

In very specific cases when Averta isn’t supported, such as in G-suite applications, our backup font is Muli.

Typography Guidelines

Give it Space

Make sure to use ample line height and paragraph spacing so that your copy is easily readable. Watch the leading when using sentence case — you’ll tend to get hanging descenders from “g’s and y’s,” so let them breathe.

DO
Do example image
Use 1.5x the font size for paragraph leading values and 1.25x the font size for headers and subtitles.
DON'T
Don't example image
Don’t use leading that is too tight, too loose, or arbitrary.

Using Caps

You’ll notice there aren’t many examples of Averta in ALL CAPS. This is a design choice. With most writing, such as primary titles, paragraphs of text, and button labels, please avoid using all uppercase or all lowercase.

DO
Do example image
Save ALL CAPS for exceptional circumstances, such as when dealing with smaller font sizes, shorter section labels and headers, or when accompanied by type that is title or sentence case.
DON'T
Don't example image
Avoid using all uppercase or all lowercase for writing such as primary titles, paragraphs of text, and button labels.

Don’t Kern Like Crazy

Averta works quite well in it's default kerning mode, try not to stray too far from that. Please avoid tracking out the typeface excessively.

DO
Do example image
Set kerning to “Auto” and tracking to “0.” Manually kern only when a particular letter pairing looks egregious.
DON'T
Don't example image
Don’t modify letterspacing values if it’s not needed.

Stick to Approved Weights and Styles
